Diamonds can be cleaned with a mild solution of six parts water to one part ammonia, applied with a soft brush. Perfumes, detergents and abrasive are very nocive for pearls, especially natural pearls. Try to avoid spraying perfume over them. It is possible to wipe pearls, emeralds, rubies and sapphire jewels with a damp cloth after each time they are worn.
